On the Go

It's days like today that make me think that time is just rushing by.
When my baby started crawling and getting into things...
I couldn't help but think of where the time has gone since his birth?!
I swear, just yesterday I was crying trying to teach him how to nurse,
and now I am crying trying to re-teach him how to take a bottle!
How grateful I am to my family and friends who helped me get through
the first month with off and on successful nursing.
I know nursing is not for everyone and doesn't work for everyone,
but for whatever reason it finally worked for me and William.

Sometimes I sit and hold William after he has fallen asleep at night
I stare at him and snuggle him tight.
He is still my little guy, but he sure has grown a lot bigger.
I remember being worried I would hold him wrong or hurt his neck
Now I can throw him in the air and bounce him on the bed

It is fun having some people think he looks tiny and to others he is huge!
Of course we think he is just perfect.
Sometimes Ben and I lay in bed and look through all the pictures
and videos of William on my phone.
To say that Ben is obsessed with him is an understatement,
I love seeing Will with his dad.
Now my baby is rolling over.
He is babbling and laughing and moving around!
He is sitting up in his crib... in the middle of the night.
He eats applesauce and squash. He sits in a real stroller.
He loves peek-a-boo and LOVES it when we sing.
He is quite the character.

And then it's time like right now when he wakes up in the middle of the night
and I can't wait for him to grow up/out of it and sleep the whole night through!

Oh... the rollercoaster of life :)
All I can do is enjoy the ride,
whatever part that may be!

Easter 2013

We had a fun Easter weekend this year.
Here are some of the highlights of our recent happenings.

William learned that he loves being on our bed.
He loves all the big pillows and to nuzzle in the comforter.
We finally got a high chair for little Will and he loves eating sweet potatoes in it

He's starting to get more grown up, especially when he wears jeans and a button (snap) up
The day before Easter was a balmy 45 and sunny.
We took advantage of the "warm" weather and William enjoyed his first swing ride.

We made a trip to Ben's office to do some spring cleaning
We dyed eggs and enjoyed some more time outside in the sun
(It's often hard to come by around here)
Ben and I went out for dinner at the Ale House and dessert at Waffle Frolic.

William's Easter basket included many fun things including his first swimsuit and hat
I made my grandmother's carrot cake recipe for the first time
William is good at funny facial expressions and loved terrorizing his basket

We didn't quite get a family picture all together, but we got some separately

William loves looking at himself in the mirror.
It always makes him happy :)
It was a great day and even more fun with William
Happy Easter, I cannot believe it's already April!
