A new identity.

Ever since I got my blue Jetta it has been named "PAIJETTA." The inspiration for my personalized license plate came from my best friend Kristen. I was trying to come up with something clever because my sister, Rachel, had a red VW beetle named "LADYBUG." It was a bit trickier with a blue Jetta... but Kristen had some inspiration that PAIGE and JETTA fit together like PAIGEJETTA... but squished together it was PAIJETA. Throughout high school and college some of my friends called me Paijetta and it even transformed into Fajita somehow to my friend Katie. But now, things have changed since moving to New York. No longer do I have an Arizona license plate, nor does it say PAIJETA...

Here it is... the new PAIJETA. To me it will always be "The Paijetta" but now FAX 5345 is its' license plate.

IT'S A BOY!

First of all, no... I am not pregnant. BUT Ben has a new "baby" boy that he just adores. Yes... that would be his new scooter. I guess it is "our" scooter, but lets be honest, it's just for him.

A few weeks ago we sold Ben's car. We didn't really need 2 cars as Ben rides the bus to school everyday, and I take the car to work. It would also be nice to have some extra money as Ben finishes his PhD...so we decided to sell his car. What I didn't realize was that since we sold the car, we now had money to buy a scooter?! Who needs to save money when you can buy a scooter for cheap!? Well that was Ben's thinking. (for Ben's sake.. he actually is a big saver and doesn't spend a lot of money).

A week ago or so Ben started looking at scooters online. Not only did he start looking at them online, he became obsessed with the idea and shortly thereafter found one he wanted to look at. "Oh... I didn't know we were that serious about buying the scooter," I said.... "Well it's on our way back from Pennsylvania, so we might as well just look at it" Ben slyly remarked.

Little did I know that the scooter was conveniently 45 minutes out of the way, on the way home. We checked out the scooter, Ben loved it. He played it cool and waited a few days. Then when he did call they didn't answer. When they finally called back Ben was by himself and made an offer on the scooter. He came back and informed me that we now "owned a scooter." So... Ben drove a few hours away to pick up the scooter, came back and got all the gear, insurance, etc. He now has a "new baby boy." ... and a helmet, a cover, insurance, a scooter pass. But I guess it's in place of a $200 bus pass every year.
