Love.

After a week of celebrating Ben's birthday we finished it off by going bowling with some of our friends.

Then Ben got some more love on Valentines Day! His birthday is a bit close to Valentines Day but it's always fun to celebrate a holiday where we both get to show our love for each other...
(and we both get presents)

We had a nice dinner at Tamarind, a local Thai restaurant.

Then we came home and opened a few gifts...

A book full of memories and pictures of our first year of marriage

Ben was really excited about my present... so excited that he accidentally left it in Arizona. He gave me a tennis racket for Christmas and bought this tennis skirt then too. It did make its way to Ithaca and I was really excited! Good shopping Ben... now if it would only warm up so we could actually play tennis around here!!

Oh yeah... and I'm taking this cake decorating class and thought I might show off my first cake!
Hopefully more to come soon.

(I did the #1 to practice for my nephew's first birthday cake)

We love February... a month full of Love!

Ben's Birthday Bash

We celebrated Ben's birthday this week as he turned 28!

I took Ben to school on my way to work, then picked him up and had a yummy Panera birthday lunch!
Later that afternoon we did the first round of opening presents from the shrine...

The big surprise of the day was that my grandparents gave him tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters for that night!

sidenote.... I heard the Globetrotters were coming to Ithaca, on his birthday. He mentioned that would be fun and forgot about it. Then he sent me an email a few days before his birthday with a link to the ticket webpage saying "we should go for my birthday." I told him sorry and that I already had plans for his birthday night (just so happened to be for exactly what he wanted to do!)

So we had some more fun opening presents...

An "at home workout bar" hiding under the bed...and other fun stuff!

We had to do an early dinner to get to the game

We went to the new Italian restaurant close to our house

Then we headed to the Globetrotters at Cornell's basketball gym

Ben had never seen them before and we both had a fun time laughing and watching their skills

Then we hurried home to have Ben's choice cake: angel food cake with whip cream and strawberries!

Not your typical birthday cake, but it was pretty delicious in the end

The next day we had round #2 of present opening with gifts from my parents, his grandparents, etc..

It was a fun birthday...we sure do love celebrating!
