East Coast Newport

Last week Ben had a Conference in New Haven, CT.  I decided to join along for the journey and we had a great time hanging around Yale.  When I say "we" I mostly mean that I had a nice time touring the campus and city by myself while Ben sat in presentations most of the day.
It was the perfect weather and a beautiful campus, so it made for a wonderful trip.  Here are just a couple of pictures from the trip.
One of the highlights of New Haven was their amazing museums.  I saw the Yale Art Gallery, British Art Gallery, and The Natural History Museum.  I took a tour of a few churches, one with a crypt in the basement... Saw where the first hamburger was served in 1895 at Louis Lunch...  Got whistled at by some creepers at the Yale Green Park... Saw the Gutenberg Bible and much more!

After Ben's Conference was over we drove to Newport, RI. His cousin and wife live there and we have a great visit with them!  Highlights included the wonderful weather that got us both sun-kissed, the beaches, the mansions, and all the yachts!

We sure love living on the East Coast.
It's nice being able to travel to so many different amazing cities close by!

Next up... my three week vacation!
Including Ben's Smoot family cruise, my brother coming home from his mission, the West Coast Newport Beach, CA, and spending some time in sunny AZ.
I am definitely a summer girl!

Baby Attacked

It has been a fun spring thus far in Ithaca, NY.
We had our Branch's closing social at a nearby lake, which was really fun.

One day I woke up and noticed something outside our window (at 5:30 am)
I opened the door to these decorations (plus much more) and ran upstairs to get Ben.  I told him that we got TP'd and he was a bit confused

We snapped a picture before I left for work and had a feeling that it was our next door neighbors who did the "decorating"
It turns out it was the Bruins and they were so nice to give us a little baby surprise love!

A few of my friends recently threw a baby shower for me
Why so early on you ask?   Well, a lot of my friends in our Branch are moving away forever, so they decided to do it before they left in May/June!

We had lots of tasty food
 Fun decorations
My cute work friend made this awesome diaper cake ( I still haven't taken it apart!)

And there were a bunch of white onesies that my friends each decorated at the shower.
It was fun to see how creative and cute they were!

Then,  we had our last "Meadows Dinner" with all our friends that live at our apartment complex.
We've been having monthly get togethers and having lots of fun!
We're going to be losing the Bruins, just one out of five other couples that lives at the Meadows with us.

Oh, and just in case you wanted to see what my belly looked like at 21 weeks there you go!
It just keeps growing!!

If you were in Ithaca...

We decided to do something fun to tell our friends about the gender of Baby Lewis.
(Here is the email invite)

Dear Friends,

Tomorrow afternoon we find out the gender of Baby Lewis!  We thought it would be fun to go out for some food to celebrate.

Some of the men have a softball game scheduled for 4:30 pm.  If they win that game they will play another game right after at 5:30.
Therefore, the time we meet depends on their success. So, here is the plan...

Plan 1:Meet @ 5:45
Plan 2: Meet @ 6:45

Ben and I thought that it would be fun to go to Five Guys or Sweet Melissa's.
If you think it is a boy head to Five Guys and if you think it's a girl go to Sweet Melissa's.

Sweet Melissa's is located at 200 West Seneca Street.
Five Guys is located at 222 Elmira Road.
They are about 1 1/2 miles apart.

COME SEE IF YOUR GUESS IS CORRECT!

There will also be a prize for the first 3 people that get to the correct location.

- Paige & Ben

After we found out about the baby yesterday Ben had his softball game.  I headed over there to find my friends cheering on the guys.  I decided to wear my blue and pink striped shirt so they didn't get any hints about the gender of baby Lewis.  They asked me how it went and if I had any news to share but I told them it would just have to wait!

The boys won the first game so we moved to Plan 2: meet @ 6:45.  The guys played well the second game but just couldn't pull off another win.  The game ended and everyone started quickly gathering their belongings.  I realized Ben and I needed to hustle to make sure we got their first!  We ran to the car and headed down to...

IT'S A BOY!!

Sara was the first one in the door!
Running in first was the Orton family!
A few minutes later came the Hales!
Emily was excited because she has a 5 month old boy!
And then third were the Stepps

 Followed by everyone else.

*Some of my friends, such as Lindsey, were set on me having a girl and staked it out at Melissa's.*

We had a pretty good turnout and had lots of fun eating and celebrating with our friends!

We can't wait for BABY BOY Lewis to come!

I LOVE this picture... he was saying hello and giving us a high five :) ha

 Happy 20 weeks... halfway there!!
