Here is an update on William John Lewis.
I feel like he has changed a lot in the past couple of months.
Not necessarily in size and stature, for he is still our lil' Will
Note: This may get lengthy and boring if you're not family
Eating:
William loves his bottle. Whole milk=his favorite.
He usually has one during the day, and it is how we get him to sleep at night (along with a few good books)
William is kind of picky. He knows what he likes.
Apples, grapes, blueberries, bananas, and sometimes a few random vegetables
Chicken, cheese, raisins, crackers, puffs, hot dogs, SPAGHETTI, yogurt, and sometimes a few bites of a peanut butter sandwich.
Sleeping:
William is already down to one nap a day. I was pretty sad when it first started happening around 12-13 months old. But now we have all morning to get out. He usually naps for 2 hours in the afternoon. We are trying to lengthen it just a bit. He goes down for the night around 7:30-8 and sleeps about 12 hours.
He has recently started wanting his blankets outside of his crib after bedtime.
This will last for a few minutes before he finds something else to play with.
He willingly spits his binky out after bedtime and luckily doesn't ask for it during the day.
Communicating:
William can understand almost everything I say.
For example: give that to mom, come get your shoes on, go upstairs to the bath, time for your nap, let's go outside, go get your animal book, etc.
It's quite nice being able to "communicate" with him nowadays.
William has also started to try and "talk" back. He has picked up on a few sign language signs of
more, all done, and milk (of course).
William can do the sounds of a few animals: cow, dog, lion, fish, etc.
He is pretty good at saying dada, all done, da (ball) and NOT mom.
He is trying to say: outside, Santa, bus, Jesus, thank you, up, and a few others.
William is constantly chattering. He loves to read his books out loud.
If I say a word, he repeats it back to me with inflection on the second syllable.
He babbles and occasionally a familiar word will pop out.
Other:
William is usually a pretty happy boy. He loves to explore. His newest favorite book is one with babies' different emotions (happy, sad). He now knows when the books are right side up.
He knows a few body parts and is really good at waving and clapping.
He loves leading the music with his arm whenever there is a song on, or especially when the organ is playing at church. He also moves his arm back and forth like the arms on the clock whenever we see one.
William is really fast. He LOVES playing hide-and-seek with Ben and will run in his direction.
He is not the best at watching where he walks, so we often have spills and falls inside and out.
William loves the structures at the park. He scares me a little bit with how daring he is.
William still only has 6 teeth. I am excited for his molars to come so he can eat more foods.
In the last couple days William has become a mama's boy before bedtime.
He won't want to go upstairs with just Ben and he wants me to hold him. Crazy.
We are trying to get past it and hope it doesn't stay.
William loves to dance. He also likes to try jumping. He bends his knees and tries to extend them and lift off
We go to story time at the library where they have a song about jumping there.
William doesn't care much for the t.v. He does love Baby Einstein Animals movie. That's about it though.
We love our little boy!
