I was more than ready to get Christmas decorations up and to start celebrating this year.
There is a cute town called Skaneateles not too far away that has an annual Charles Dickens Christmas Festival.
We went with some of our friends and their kids and enjoyed the fun festivities

We still wanted a picture with Santa!
I decided that we were getting a Christmas tree this time, after having our ornaments hung on the chandelier last year!
Ben and I found a tree farm and decided to go for it
After much contemplating we found the "closest to perfect" tree.
Ben got to saw it down like a real man!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Very nice! I wish we had a big, real, pine-smelling Christmas tree this year. *sigh* They're a little harder to come by in Houston. I hope the tree stand worked out for you! It's probably annoying to find a way to get a hole drilled unless you buy it at the right place, but it was by far the easiest tree stand I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteDid you find the tree farm I gave you very specific instructions for (jk :))? Your tree looks great! Miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies... so the tree stand works fine after we had Moores drill a hole in our tree! ha. And not sure we actually found your place Hillary :) but we liked the one we found, kinda similar, just this guy's backyard!
ReplyDeleteHaha I love that Ben sawed that tree himself! I also love your leopard sweater ;) lylas
