November/December 2014

This was the beginning of William's love for BYU basketball games.  I didn't know how well he would sit through it, but he loved it and it started the fun times for this boy.

About 26 weeks, baby girl started really popping out.

Ben’s grandma Lewis passed away after living a full life to almost age 94.  Doug/Annie, Lauren and baby Olena flew in for the funeral weekend.  Of course Ben and CJ had an intramural soccer game the night of the viewing.   It was a very neat weekend filled with family memories and lots of love.  It was lots of fun spending time with our family that lives far away.  Ben, William and others wore bow ties in honor of Grandpa Ben Lewis.

 The Lewis Brothers

 28 weeks
We attended one of the last home BYU football games with William.  It was his first and last of the season.  The cold weather didn't stop us, but it did help us leave at half time.  William and I left early and got Yogurtland on the way home.

For Thanksgiving this year we decided to stay in Utah and spent it with my grandparents in SLC for the second year in a row.  We started potty-training William right before Thanksgiving and did the no-pants for three day “method”.  William did better than I thought, but it definitely was a stressful first week + whenever we left the house.  Gummy bears were very helpful as we used them for rewards at the beginning.

Our family of three went to the zoo the day before Thanksgiving.  Luckily we had warmer weather and  sunny skies to enjoy the giraffes, polar bear and otters.  We took William to a University of Utah basketball game.  By the end of the game he learned how to say “Go Utah” and went home with a t-shirt and mini basketball.

This boy loves sporting events, especially basketball games. He asks to go to a basketball game daily and often cries when my response is no.  There is a song that BYU plays at the very end of the game to pump up the crowd, the “boom boom” song.  William looks forward to that the whole game as well as whenever he gets to sing the fight song.  He can almost recite it better than I!

We headed back to Provo for some Black Friday shopping.  Ben and I got new phones but the highlight for William was watching Santa arrive at the mall in a helicopter.  We even got a picture with Spiderman, too.
Goodbye, Iphone 4s... you served me well with the cracked screen for 6 months

BYU had their annual faculty Christmas party at the Wilkinson Center in early December.  William “wrote” a letter to Santa, made a craft and enjoyed dounuts.

Provo had their lighting of the tree that same weekend.  We had dinner at Sammy’s and made our way through the crowd to see the fireworks and watch the lights and decorations come alive.  It was a fun night that we’ll have to continue to join in the years to come.

We lucked out and had some beautiful weather in December resulting in park days with friends and playing outside more than one would guess.

Before heading home to Arizona for Christmas William got to meet Santa.  He wasn’t nervous and made sure to say “train tracks please” when prompted.  It was a successful meeting and he even got a candy cane afterward to top it all off.

We sure love our sweet William boy
